Bartenders Bash… the Flair bartending competition that started it all for myself and many others. A long time tradition that was passed down to me from a true Flair legend Bill Long. This multi venue event starts down at the original location where it all started… Holiday Isle in the Florida Keys May. Then in June we hit the Blue Martini in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the 2nd event of the “Bartenders Bash Series”. Then we move to a new location in June at Bahia Cabana in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This three venue multi-date event is entirely based on “Freestyle Exhibition Flair” and competitors will accumulate points from both events to determine the overall winner. This competition is all about FUN and FLAIR! We keep the prize money low to keep the event fun and stress free. It is one of the biggest industry parties of the year and has a lot of prestige and sentimental value to many. This is great competition for first time competitors wanted to get there feet wet and feel like a rockstar on stage to seasoned profesional Flair bartenders who want to be a part of history. Check your liver at the door and bring your pay stub that proves you work in the service industry as a “tipped employee” because this event is closed off to the public and reserved for the true party people that serve all year round and finally have a chance to be served. For more details check out “www.barwars.info”!

Create your own DIY guide at www.howcast.com or produce your own Howcast spots with the Howcast Filmmakers Program at www.howcast.com The days of the three-martini lunch may be over, but this sophisticated drink will never go out of style. To complete this How-To you will need: 2 1/2 oz. gin (or vodka) Ice 1/2 oz. dry vermouth Small, chilled olives with no pimento A mixing glass A cocktail strainer A clean napkin or cloth A martini glass A long spoon And a toothpick Step 1: Chill glass Chill the martini glass by filling it with ice and water and set it aside. Tip: Martinis should be very cold—storing your martini and mixing glass in the freezer will keep your finished drink even cooler, longer. Step 2: Fill with ice Fill the mixing glass with ice. Step 3: Add gin Add the gin. Tip: A traditional martini is made with gin, but a vodka martini simply replaces one liquor with the other. Step 4: Add dry vermouth Add the dry vermouth. Tip: A dry martini has less vermouth—for a very, very dry martini, just coat the ice cubes with vermouth, then dump out the actual liquor. Step 5: Stir Stir with the spoon about 50 times, making sure your liquids are well mixed and chilled by the ice. Save the “shaken, not stirred …

To complete this How-To you will need: 3 oz. gin (or vodka) 2 tsp. dry white vermouth 1 tsp. olive brine 1 to 3 olives Ice A martini glass A mixing glass or cocktail shaker A long spoon A toothpick Step 1: Chill glass Chill the martini glass by filling it with ice and water, and set it aside. Step 2: Fill with ice Fill the mixing glass with ice. Step 3: Add gin, vermouth, & olive brine Add the gin, vermouth, and olive brine. Tip: Bottled olive juice is sold in varying potencies so you can concoct a drink that’s as light or dirty as you prefer. Step 4: Stir with spoon Stir with the spoon for about 15 seconds. Step 5: Empty glass Empty the now-chilled martini glass. Step 6: Strain drink Strain the drink into the martini glass. Step 7: Spear olives Spear 1 to 3 olives with the toothpick. Tip: For an exotic touch, use premium olives stuffed with blue cheese, garlic, or jalapenos. Step 8: Garnish and serve Garnish and serve …
