Bond Orders a Vodka Martini

by MartiniTodd on February 9, 2012

Dry martini. Wait… three measures of Gordon’s; one of vodka; half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon peel.

@mrroboto790 I hate to be an winer but Casino and Quantum are reboots. There basically starting the franchise all over again.

mrroboto790 August 30, 2011 at 2:24 pm

@drwhomasterfan casino royale is the first book chronologically, and the movie follows it. therefore it takes place before everything else. and everyone knows that quantum of solace directly follows casino royale, it’s just not based on a book and has become its own story. so maybe that could be considered a reboot, but they all lead up to dr. no, even though technology is different now giving it a reboot feel rather than prequel. star wars was the same way

3 People have never had a Vodka Martini before

DrBones666 October 2, 2011 at 7:11 am

Kina Lillet is no longer available. You’ll have to substitute with the blanc.

jazzx251 October 11, 2011 at 6:34 pm

@gigi051000

In the very first James Bond novel – where the character was invented – he orders exactly this drink and names it a Vesper.

In fact, in the novels, he rarely drinks a Vodka Martini – he has all sorts of other drinks from around the world though.

jazzx251 October 11, 2011 at 6:37 pm

@FlySociety06

With gin, you are correct. But vodka must always be served cold – the quickest way of doing that is to shake it.

jimisvoodoochild October 16, 2011 at 10:50 pm

gordons???? that fuckin nasty plastic handle shit? ugh

zing9753 October 21, 2011 at 1:50 am

@jimisvoodoochild Its gin. Gin has a very acquired taste.

Craig’s bond is great because he uses NO gadgets. Bronson relied almost totally on gadgets.

VerystrangeMaster November 9, 2011 at 12:56 am

The only James Bond is Pierce Brosnan or whatever his name is. This guy is a fag. Gay Bond :) )

singularku November 14, 2011 at 1:00 am

@VerystrangeMaster pierce bronsnan was farmer who should works in a farm not 007!
real 007=sean connery,roger moore and timothy dalton.
this guy is not qualified to be james bond but at least he is a lot better than pierce bronsnan!

codename617 November 24, 2011 at 3:33 am

@jimisvoodoochild this line was directly taken from the book, which fleming wrote in 1950, so i guess either fleming had no taste or pp; back then didn’t.

@singularku You sir are living in the past

TheJamesbond20 December 13, 2011 at 8:55 am

who finds, that this is BORINGGGG !?

lukejtmulder December 21, 2011 at 12:29 am

@DrBones666 Cocchi Aperitivo Americano has a similar flavor profile to the original

lukejtmulder December 21, 2011 at 12:37 am

@RushLimborg A Vesper differs from Bond’s usual cocktail of choice, the martini, in that it uses both gin and vodka, Kina Lillet instead of the usual dry vermouth, and a lemon peel instead of an olive.

karakorak December 21, 2011 at 5:02 pm

What an absurd prat Bond is. Whatever that cocktail is, it is certainly not a “dry martini”. And anyone barking “Wait!” at a waiter like that is just rude, not commanding. Try that with a waiter in real life!

Mixing it up with Gin this time, nice!
